I also fixed a problem where the recorder sometimes wouldn't stop when capturing full screen. This new version, 4.4, is a free update for those who purchased version 4.0 or later. Upgrades from older versions are still half-price. If you need a break, download the new version here: http://pixelmetrics.com/CapWizPro/Download.htm If you're happy with the version you have, there's no need to update. -------------------------------------------------------------------- CaptureWiz author guilty of grandstanding. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I made it all up. My story about winning the "Nobel PC prize" was intended as a parody of Barack's "Nobel Peace prize". For all those who sent me congratulations anyway, I'll keep them on hold as pre-payment in case I ever actually win an award for something someday, thanks! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Backup service doesn't backup downloaded software. -------------------------------------------------------------------- We were shocked when alert customer Charles B. pointed out that backup services, such as Carbonite, don't back up downloaded software, such as CaptureWizPro. It's because, by default, they don't back up executable (.EXE) files. That's fine for software that comes on CD, but downloaded programs will be lost. We maintain a downloadable archive of our programs, but not every publisher does. One solution is to remember to individually right-click each downloaded EXE file and explicitly tell Carbonite to "Back this up". -------------------------------------------------------------------- Burn recordings to DVD for free with Windows 7. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Here's how to use Windows DVD Maker, which is included free with Microsoft Vista and Windows 7, to burn recordings to DVD such that they play on any DVD player. 1 On the PixelMetrics player, click Convert and convert the recording to WMV format. 2 Insert a blank DVD. 3 On the pop-up dialog, click Burn a DVD video disc using Windows DVD Maker. 4 In Windows DVD Maker, follow the on-screen instructions. Prior to Vista, you needed to buy "DVD authoring" software to create a "DVD video" disk. -------------------------------------------------------------------- How to play CWP recordings on Macintosh. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you to customer Dao N. for discovering an easy way to play CWP recordings on a Macintosh! First, use the PixelMetrics player to convert the recordings to WMV format. Then, on your Mac, install the free Windows Media Player for Mac and use it to play WMV files from CWP or anywhere else. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact Info -------------------------------------------------------------------- PixelMetrics: http://www.PixelMetrics.com Please send comments, suggestions and Valentine kisses, the chocolate kind, to: dave@PixelMetrics.com To unsubscribe, click here (or copy & paste the address into your browser): http://www.pixelmetrics.com/cgi-bin/mojo/mojo.cgi?f=u&l=new&e=[email]&p=[pin] To subscribe, click here: http://www.pixelmetrics.com/CaptureWiz/CwNewsSub.htm To change your address, first unsubscribe, then follow the link to re-subscribe using your new address.
