Broderbund deal off.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We were thrilled when Broderbund Software contacted us to publish CaptureWiz, but fear not, the deal is off. A major factor was the number of our customers who reacted by complaining about Broderbund. Apparently, they are no longer the company we had great success licensing to 25 years ago. We plan to continue doing what we love, improving CaptureWiz, as long as we can drink coffee and write code.

Why recordings sometimes stop or slow down.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Recordings may stop or slow due to the microprocessor throttling down. Before recording, go to Windows “Power Options” and set it to Full Power and Never Go to Sleep. Your specific hardware may have additional settings for conserving power. Additional cooling may be needed if the microprocessor is throttling back due to heat buildup. You can check for the problem by opening Windows Task Manager, clicking the Performance tab and watching the graphs.

Windows update may disable AVI playback.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We recommended the older AVI video formats for years because they’re playable on any Windows machine. But Microsoft is dropping support for those formats due to security vulnerabilities. You may find older videos no longer play in Windows Media Player, but other players, such as Apple QuickTime, still support them. We now recommend using WMV format instead.
