Free video editor for making YouTube movies. Capturing Metro apps in Windows 8. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Scroll tool demo video. -------------------------------------------------------------------- In this nine-minute video, Dave shows off the new scroll capture tool, including... > scrolling both horizontally and vertically > capturing a spreadsheet > capturing a scrolling drop-down list > tweaking the selected area > three ways to scroll www.youtube.com/watch?v=TQsSheiT0E4 -------------------------------------------------------------------- Free video editor for making YouTube movies. -------------------------------------------------------------------- To make the above demo, Dave used the CaptureWiz recorder and free video editing provided by YouTube here... www.youtube.com/editor After creating a YouTube account, you can easily trim your clips, drop them onto a timeline, add effects and audio. Note that YouTube videos are 640 x 360, so we suggest using that size for your original recordings and convert them to WMV format for upload to YouTube. While it’s not CNN, it’s relatively quick, inexpensive and simple. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Capturing Metro apps in Windows 8. -------------------------------------------------------------------- The big deal about Windows 8 is the new Metro touch-screen interface. Like it or not, Metro appears when you start Windows 8, even if you don’t have a touch screen. In this new Metro world, you can only run "apps" from the Windows store and apps cannot capture the screen. Bummer for us. But you will be able to run all your old programs, including CaptureWiz, by switching to "Desktop" mode. And here’s the good news, CaptureWizPro, running in Desktop mode, can capture Metro apps! Here’s how... 1 Open the Metro app you want to capture. 2 Press F10, TWICE, this is the tricky part! 3 Select the area to capture and an output, just like normal. We eventually hope to provide a touch method, but for the Windows 8 Consumer Preview, this works great. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Contact Info -------------------------------------------------------------------- PixelMetrics: http://www.PixelMetrics.com Please send comments, suggestions and movie reviews to: dave@PixelMetrics.com Newsletter Archive: http://www.pixelmetrics.com/cgi-bin/mojo/mojo.cgi?f=list&l=new To unsubscribe, click here (or copy & paste the address into your browser): http://www.pixelmetrics.com/cgi-bin/mojo/mojo.cgi?f=u&l=new&e=[email]&p=[pin] To subscribe, click here: http://www.pixelmetrics.com/CaptureWiz/CwNewsSub.htm To change your address, first unsubscribe, then follow the link to re-subscribe using your new address.
