Converting recordings

To convert video recordings to WMV, AVI or GIF format:

1 On the capture bar, click View / Player.

2 Select the recording.

3 On the player, click Convert and follow the wizard's instructions.

What are all those other AVI encoders listed in the converter drop down list?

CaptureWiz lists all the encoders it finds on your computer. They seem to collect like pens in pencil cups. Many of the encoders, despite being registered for shared use, work only with certain software and can't be used with CaptureWiz. We recommend the DivX encoder, if available, because it uses MPEG-4 and plays on many DVD players.
